The Last Day

Errands, at least most of them are done.
Haircut – check
David’s new outfit – check
Car repairs – half check – still need more work on that
Hair dye – skipped – no time
Laundry – in the process
Packing – see above
I am excited now to be going to Colorado. I do miss my family terribly and wish I could see them more often. This whole family gathering has the potential to be either extremely cool or absolutly awful. It seems that when my relations gather, and we add a spash of alcohol, that the skeletons like to leap out of the closet and dance on the tables. I’m not going to participate in any ugliness becase this visit is not about me. It’s about Alexis and Gregg and their celebration of marriage (and baby on the way).
I think its interesting to note that none of my mother’s relations are participating in the event, which is a shame. I counted on at least one uncle being there but everyone has too little money or time to donate to Lex’s big day. I might add that this really pisses me off. There is an air of craziness in my genes (as you well know) and this flaw revealed itself fully when one uncle backed out and the other, who has not spoken to my mother for over a year, found it necessary to remain in Florida without even RSVPing to Alexis. Fucking cowards.
But I am going to be there. With a dress on. (shudder) I am going to support Lex, try to have a good time, and get some homework done in the process.
