Consolidating student loans now will save on interest With the big budget cuts came the slashing of support for student loans. This enraged me, not just because I use them to go to school myself, but also because there are people who are worse off than I am that NEED these. I could use private loans if I needed to, but there are many out there that don’t have that option. I think I should consolidate now so I don’t fuck myself in the future with the interest rates.

I came to work this morning, and I realized that “How was your Christmas?” translates loosely into “What gifts did you get for Christmas?” It has nothing to do with any kind of spiritual awakening I might have had nor about the time I spent with my family. It’s all about the presents. I listened to everyone gush and guffaw over their new this and their shiny that and I wanted to vomit. Admittedly I was a little sad on Christmas day. I felt like I was missing out on something important by blowing off the lights and glitter and wrapped packages for a more relaxed setting. I now see that I missed nothing but consumerism and financial grandstanding.

Thanks, but I’ll stick to playing video games.

Next year I will volunteer rather than mope. It’s a lot better for everyone.

Oh, and never, ever go to Best Buy on the day after Christmas. What a bloody nightmare. No “deal” I may get on a new PSP game would ever be worth the headache and near panic-attack I suffered yesterday.

Cat and Brian and David are all probably still sleeping. I’m damn jealous. I have to work all week and D is home. I may have to call him later to bring me lunch. I forgot mine in the freezer. Sometimes I’m just a damn airhead. I am looking forward to New Year’s Eve and some quiet time and getting into my last year of school. I am also looking forward to some RUM!
