It’s nice to be home

The trip was eventful and reminded me how much I love my porch.
Thank god Chris was here to stay with the kids. He arrived late thursday night and we left at an obscene hour on Friday morning. The trip out there was relatively uneventful. Airplane. Layover. Airplane (and crap food) and arrival.
You could see the mountains from the air, and I heard their siren call to me. I’m not meant for Florida, and this was a huge reminder. Mom picked us up. We scarfed down Burger King (note to self: Avoid shite fast food) and took a spin around Costco. It’s amazing how much you can spend there. What’s more amazing in the ammount of shit you leave with. And there is no reason for BBQ sauce to come in five gallon buckets – that’s just obscene.
Two hours ( and a stop at the cooled liquor store in the country ) later and we got to the B&B. My sister seemed very happy to see me. Her hands were cold on my back. It was bloody cold there! I LOVED IT!!! (Have I mentioned that I am not a Florida fan?) Someone made Jungle Juice and everyone started drinking the wicked concoction way too early. I sipped it and realized that it wasn’t for me. I try to avoid any beverage that is put together in a cauldron and involves Everclear.
Hours later. The rehersal was done. Dinner had been consumed. I was exhausted from not sleeping at ALL! But we all started drinking. It was really cool because everyone at the B&B was there for the wedding. No strangers. No guests just friends and family. It was good to catch up with everyone and see faced I had missed dearly.
The evening itself was filled with drama. Skanky strippers were hired from Denver on a whim by the one person I loathe at the inn (who came with my Mom’s best friend because she thought he was a good time and a decent lay) and then it pretty much went downhill from there. The ladies went to the MooseJaw to shoot some pool and the shit. I have to say that I fell in love with Mom’s good friend Mary. She owns another little place in Friso, and she was so much fun! Every time I turned around she had a shot for me. The women were summoned to come back to the B&B by Mom’s friend so we could see part of the stripper show. Aparenty our arrival was premature because when we stormed the room the strippers were standing there with two lit candles in their hands and shocked looks on their faces. There was a tussle because we were getting kicked out again. Had something to do with the candles. You do the math.
So, I stayed up WAY past my bedtime and eventually made it back to the room where David was sleeping. He skipped the slut show.
Morning. Lex and the other girls in the wedding and I all went to get our nails done. While we were getting painted and prettied up we noticed something awful outside : snow! It was slushy, but it was there. Alexis had a strapless gown on and all of the wedding girls were wearing spagetti straps. (and I wasn’t wearing a bra with it…yeah I know… you didn’t need to know that part) We were going to freeze.
But I am going to stop now because I still need to go to bed…..so more later…
