But I am sitting on the computer, listening to Lamb, with no one to keep me company except the spider that has taken up residence on my monitor.

Has anyone noticed that the world is a fucking crazy place where it’s not right to show breasts in artistic content but sending kids overseas to blow up other unarmed kids is okay? Does that sit well with anyone? Let’s think about this. And what of Paul Johnson’s beheading yesterday? While I think it sucks it is being blown out of proportion. (Yes, I wrote about the Nick Berg thing a few weeks ago, but the footage disturbed me.) The man chose to live over there, knowing the risks. He had been there for 10 years so he was not blindsided by the shift in attitudes towards Americans. He probably saw it better than any slanted news media could. But why is it tragic that he died? Tell me? Because he was American? That’s horseshit.

We need to get our asses out of there. End of the fucking story. We did it all wrong and as a result we destablized the area. I pray that the governing council can hold it together but I think they are puppets that are going to dance to the president’s tune.

Do you know what the real tragedy is? Homelessness, hunger and corrupt corporations in our own country. But we are so blinded by the spectacular stories of war that we have forgotten what has happened in our own country.
