So, after the disappointment comes the death of Vader. No, I’m not talking about Star Wars. I am talking about David’s car.
We were on our way to run an errand and got t-boned at Amelia and Bumby. We walked away from the accident (and then home because we didn’t have my phone, only D’s which doesn’t have very many numbers), so that’s something to be grateful for. The moron ran the red at Bumby and plowed right into David’s side. The front wheel on his side sat at a 90 degrees, jutting out like a loose tooth. Undrivable, and stuck in the middle of Bumby, we called the cops and then stood in the cold rain for an hour while the police and the moron got everything straightened out. We are hoping for a good outcome with Vader and we are going to share Roja (my car) and bike commute when we can. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise, after all, we did want to get rid of one of the cars before we moved. So, the guy was ticketed with running a red light. He claimed he had the green, but he never got off his cell phone the whole time we dealt with the cops. It think he was on it when he ran the light! Fucker. I hate cell phones. He ended up on the other side of the street and managed to drive his peice of shit into the parking lot. I admit that I got out of the car and fired off a couple of “you fucking idiots” at the guy. I kept my mouth shut when the cop told me the idiot just got out of jail for assulting an officer. His bumper was ripped off somewhere in the fracas. I think I saw it in the intersection, but people never really slowed when they saw all the debris. The Orlando Cops never offered to drive us home, and when we did get there I realized how sore I was. I’ve had 2 glasses of wine, so I’m not that sore anymore…yay wine!
Let me reiterate. We are fine. We really did walk home. Now I am about 4 sips of wine away from being fully drunk, because, well, I’ve had one of the shittiest days on record. D and I rode Cady Way and took the Beagle Boys to the dog park just before the rain. There are parts of the day that ended up being nice. Walking home carrying 2 shirts and a reciept, a bike rack, D’s e-pass, and various other car innards really didn’t strike me as the way to spend a late Saturday afternoon…
On that note…Frankie and D are on their way back from ABC with my wine. Let the drunk begin!

I am SO glad that you are both physically fine…I also want to pound that guys skull into an unrecognizeable powder…but I digress
Seriously though I could just strangle that guy…
If you feel really sore tomorrow…do not hesitate to get checked out by the Dr. I know you are both adults, but seriously B and I weighed the reality of what happened to you over dinner and realized what your bodies must have gone through. Even if you do not answer tomorrow I am going to call and check on you.
I love you guys and enjoy your evening of wine.

holy shit
we were at Fashion Square mall yesterday afternoon and evening when it was raining. I wish we had gone home a different direction because then we would have seen you.
I am glad you both are ok. Nothing like a bit of wine to warm you up. Take it easy today and drink some green tea. xoxo

I am sorry that you had to experience that (in the rain no less)… and that the idiot really was an idiot. Sorry that your evening was not the event that it could have been, but you had wine and you had the knowledge that you and David walked away from something that could have been potentially dangerous. Go to Trish’s Teas in Baldwin and get some of the Mate Chino or the French Blend Tea… delicious.
