Do you know what sandpaper feels like? Now imagine it scoring your throat over and over again. I fucking hate being sick.

I didn’t make it to class tonight, and i had a speech due. It began yesterday with an itchy throat and a persistant cough. It wasn’t a productive cough, just an itchy one which is one hundred times more irritating than the ones that produce something. For some reason I feel better when I work for my phelm rather than trying to scratch an itch deep in my lungs.

But I digress…So I left work early. Got home. Took Dayquil and napped with the beagles. I know I had a fever when I went to bed. I felt like an Erica-sicle - at -100 degrees and the two shirts plus the sweater (which for some reason was hanging up in the closet - thank god), a pair of socks, all my blankets and two beagle-heaters could not warm me up. I fell into a fitful sleep and about 4 hours later I woke feeling a little less like hammered shit.

David and I went to Chipotle, and I barely touched my burrito bowl - this is a dramatic sign of illness people. I am obsessed with Chipotle. But I ate maybe 5 bites and then decided I just wanted the tea. Even that tasted like crap. I hate being sick.

Now it’s almost bed time. I slept more. I have a quiz tomorrow for class and I have 2 speeches due next week. This is going to be oodles of fun.

Oh, and I got new glasses. FYI - if the Target optical center tells you “They will be here in 7 days, but they usually come sooner” Don’t believe them. Saturday was a week. Then they had an “issue” and had to redo the glasses. Then they didn’t ship on the right day. Today, when I go to pick them up, I am told that after all the bullshit they didn’t put the non-reflective coating on them. I am irritated, but at least I can see. They gave me the ones that came in, and there is a second order out for new lenses with the correct coating. Meanwhile the light is really streaky in these. Oh well, at least they aren’t chewed to hell. Not yet, at least.
