My next tattoo

I’ve been talking to D about my next work of art. It will be a while in coming because I’ve got research to do and it’s a pretty intricate peice. It’s my sole religious work (in the classic sense…I still consider all of my dragons my protectors). It’s a blending of different goddess iconography from a number of religions. Based on the body of a Spanish (or Latin) Virgin Mary, she will have the head of a cat (Bast), a swollen belly with the phases of the moon (the three phases of womanhood/the moon goddesses), 4 arms (Kali), each holding a symbol from female Christian saints (I need to figure out which ones). There are more that I want to bring to it…but for now…yeah. I think that’s enough. You know where it’s going? On my ribs on the left side, beneath my heart. Appropriate I think.
And on that note…it’s coffee time.

I absolutely cannot wait to see the drawing of this when you have finished research…and more so the finished tattoo. Are you going to incorporate symblic colors, as well? I love the concept behind it.

I am going to try to…but like Kali’s traditionally black and the Latin Mary’s are bright blues, reds and yellow and Bast I think is also black. I think I am going to leave it up to D to work out the color scheme with this so it works. I, of course, will nag all along the way
I can’t wait. It’s going pretty much from hip to breast. I love tattoos.
