Stolen masterpiece fetches £11.7m

Interesting that this article comes out now because I was reading about him last night. Not as popular as Klimt (you can see the influence in his earlier works) but they were friends throughout Schiele’s life. I am learning a lot about the art movements at the turn of the 20th century. So many influences. Such intermixing of styles and ideas. It’s pretty cool studying this stuff.

Modern art is full of some interesting things. It saddens me that your exposure to it at school was so limited.

Yeah, but through my own exploration, I’ve found some amazing artists! Like Schiele and Tintoretto and a new appreciation for comic art.
