Stone Earrings

This morning I realized how much I love my earrings. I’ve had to stretch them to a 4g to fit, but I think they are lovely. I’m trying to get away from bone jewlery. I feel bad for the poor buffalo. They are not slaughtered for their horn and bone. They are just using the remants that would otherwise go to waste. But because they use animals to begin with, it makes me feel icky. So, I found these amazing beauties, and am quite impressed. They came in a few weeks ago but I looked at them again this morning as I put them on and I was really struck by how pretty they are. I love personal decor made of stone.
I had a long talk with Cat about the disconnect with my family. She’s wisdom in an tiny, adorable package. Relationships, like all things, cycle through phases. I just need to ride this one out, and be present in every moment. I live while gazing at memory. If I turn away, I can focus on this amazing year. In the following 12 months we will: move to Portland, I will graduate with my BA (finally!!!), we will celebrate our 2nd anniversary of our first wedding, and our second anniversary of our second wedding, move Tali back to FL and figure out how we can all get to Portland… It’s going to be busy, so I can’t expect everyone to understand how important this is. I will just move on and wait for things to cycle back into a comfortable space.
I have a sinus headache from hell and I have to go to this silly “Workplace Violence” class. They require everyone to go, so this is not a class I am being sent to because I am particularly violent…. and I know that was the first thing you thought too.
Tonight is my last night of class for the summer. I am very glad it’s over. Very very glad. I still have an incomplete in my Spring humanities class… I wish that woman would grade my damn thesis… ugh.
Happy Wednesday…the week is downhill from here!

Those are beautiful…the spirals are amazing too…they’d match my tattoo nicely…I took out my 6 guage and have regular earings in now…so I would seriously have to stretch to get into some of those 4′s.

I am the queen of stretching my lobes and septum on my own. I’ve done my ears slowly, terrified of a blowout. If you are back to regular earring it would be kind of a bitch to get them to a 4g, but I like the bigger guages now. I can’t imagine wearing smaller ones. I’ve even considered stretching my second holes, but that will come with time (I have 11 piercings in my ears)… But if you want the pretty stuff you gotta stretch… Personally, I love the organic body jewelry. It makes me happy in a silly kind of way.
