I’ve got your fourty miles right here

Today, I woke at 10. Breakfast was served at the College Park Cafe (the best hashbrowns in town!). Then, onto West Orange Trail. Fourty miles. Yes, you read that right. D and I biked fourty miles, and my thighs are reminding me what the extra ten feels like. I don’t know how long it took us, but I do know that I managed to get up to 25 miles per hour. I also know that I slipped beneath 10 on the last leg of the trip. In my defense, we had a headwind. Still, I am progressing. 25 mph feels good, damn good. Fast and good. It was fun. We learned a few lessons though. The most important is that I need to eat throughout the trip. My blood sugar dropped and I turned into the Erica-sauras. Not fun for D and it polluted the last 7 miles or so. I had to rework the anger and turn it into motivation. It worked. And dinner tasted divine.
The Punkin Party was on Saturday. I think D and Anne tied for the coolest pumpkins. We had a good time. I still have enough beer to kill a small group of lushes, but it won’t go to waste. I think I have enough pumpkin beer to last me throughout the year, and that’s not bad at all. My porch looks very festive with the 8 carved pumpkins lining the banister. I took pictures, but my camera died. I will upload them later.
D and I are off of work until Thursday. I could get used to this lifestyle. Waking when I want to, biking for hours, living in my happy pants. It’s good stuff. But, I do have homework to finish, and D’s working on his right now. I should do something productive, but I think I will revel in my biking success.
One more thing. I have a new seat and a cyclometer. Both rock.
Thanks for listening….

I feel like we were hardly at your party. It was like we were not there very long. Maybe because I was in such deep focus for so long. Anyhoo, I loved your party!

That’s awesome you rode so far. I also have a new seat and cyclometer! How nifty. I hope to get up to as many miles as you guys but with the hills, it’s pretty tough. Glad your punkin party went well; Happy Halloween!

That sounds like a good ride to me. I’m glad you got the bike computer. I love mine, but I’m sure yours is much cooler.
