That is such a good quote. I am really becoming an avid reader of your blog! I used to play the old final fantasy when I was younger (FF3). I would spend hours in that game, basking in the intricacy and infinite possibilities of customization.

I am a collector. I run around like a maniac, trying to get the rare swords and unique armor. It’s a sick fascination for me. But, I’ve made a new rule. No games till the bodywork is done. I often forget that I am allowed to have fun, be it with video games or dinner at Babbo’s, as long as I take care of myself.
The quote comes from the way I have been living. Instead of being present, in an honest and grateful way, I look to the future to find my happiness. That is the wrong way to live. If I don’t pay attention, I may miss something important. And I find solace in the little things. Today, I remembered that picture of my desk. This afternoon, I can smile because of my dogs, or eagerly check the mailbox. I love letters. I need to do right by my life, and that means living in the now, not in tomorrow. And now, well, my life is so damn interesting!
*sorry for the ramble…I think I need some coffee

My husband runs into this problem a lot. He’s always looking for the next thing: the next video game, the next project, the next football season. About every 3-4 weeks he realizes this, has a slight breakdown in which he promises to live more in the present and things are good for a while. Unfortunately, I find myself doing the same exact thing. Sigh.

I too live in the future and the past. I tend to like to start over so much because I feel like reinventing myself is the way to go.
Are you talking about Babbo NYC? I love Molto Mario, I think he is the best in celebrity Italian cooks.

No, Babbo’s is a little restaurant in College Park. The staff are friendly, and atmosphere is laid back, and they have a porch. I love eating outside.
