And the coffee just kicked in! Wooo hooo !

It’s an interesting position, sitting here listening to the radio. You get a different view of the workings of a utility company from this chair. The personalities clash, and watching those spectacles keeps ennui at bay. A different attitude permeates the air here, we are more laid back, and here they hurry everywhere. Perhaps it is the nature of the elements we work with. I am water, flowing and sometimes still. They are electric, buzzing and alight. Regardless, it’s a nice change of pace from the norm. I enjoy the new challenges. Plus, the drive really isn’t that bad from my house.

Later…
For the second day in a row, they fed me. Although, the pizza made my tummy rumble a little more than was comfortable. I am going to be here until 7 again. That’s not a bad thing, really. In 2 days I am getting quite a bit of overtime, so all is well.

The weekend is just a couple days away. The weeks go by so quickly when I am in school. Class last night was…well..short. I made it in the door right around 9 and found that Pip has been eating the couch again. That bastard is going to end up a stuffed beagle if he doesn’t cease his incessant chewing. I give him boxes, old shoes, toys, and he insists on eat the fucking couch.

So, the debates are tonight. I am going to record them, since I will probably be driving home when they are on. Am I excited about this? Not really. These debates are not open. There are pre-formed questions and pre-formed answers. The intelligence of the speechwriters is revealed, not the speech-givers themselves. If you have a good writer and an excellent coach then you are going to come off looking shiny and happy. So, I am not thrilled about the idea of watching a staged debate. Because then it’s not a debate, it’s a play and I don’t think either candidate are that appealing when placed in that kind of forum. If it were a true debate, which relied upon the speaking skills and knowledge of the candidates, then I would be interested in watching, but this is just porridge disguised as caviar.

I’m pretty disappointed in the way the debates are being staged myself. Are these men (or man?) such cowards that they can’t carry their own speeches. Do they have no opinions or agendas except what is told them by advisors. Whoever wins the election, I’m afraid he will still be a puppet.

The debates are about over, and to tell you the truth, I have a new found respect for Kerry. Put being a rich, privelaged upper class citizen aside, this guy knows his history, this guy can bring an argument to the table.

Bush is a total and complete puppet, obvious from his repetition of keywords/phrases and from his inability to snap out of his weak circular reasoning.

I also swear they told Georgie “when you get pissed off, or when you feel a shitty resonse coming on, act like you’re writing something down. then, flip your paper over. think happy thoughts George, like 4 wheeling on your ranch or bombing all those Jews”.

If anyone can point the way to a full and complete transcript, preferably with bold/italicized text marking each speaker (unlike CNN’s shitty transcript), I’ll buy you a beer and a laffy taffy. Bonus points (and possible slurpee) for video clips.
