Bug Bites on my Toes
Did I forget to mention? October 2nd, 2004
Ouch
Last night we drank wine, watched the debates and talked long into the morn. It’s good to spend time with him like this. We really don’t do it enough. He’s been very vocal about my writing. He feels I need to dedicate more time to it, in earnest. And so when ideas pop into my little brain I am going to try to make the most of them. I have to. It’s who I am. Sometimes I find myself denying the need but its stronger than my will most of the time. This outlet, my little peice of the world wide web, while fruitful, seems to block the creative process. I think thinkgs out here. Talk about what’s going on, but I don’t write. Not really. I think I should start, though. Maybe then I could find that one idea that propels me fully into the writing life. And if it’s not found here then I will find it elsewhere. In a book or an image in a magazine. And if the keyboard doesn’t call I will make sure to rely upon the pen. I always loved the feel of paper beneath my hand. And it seems to be a more organic process when watching the ink flow. Through that movement, wrist and fingers waving and dancing, I create. I miss that.
Tonight we venture to an unknown place with Miss A and Mr N. They have invited us for a cold one and we are heeding their call. Their company reminds me that there are others like us in the world. While we are not the same in all things, we find much common ground on which to tread. That connection makes me feel at ease. It’s like an extension of my home, a thing without judgement, without ego. It’s just a pleasant walk through the peaks and valleys in our lives. I can’t think of anyone else I would rather spend time with tonight. (Besides David, but that’s a given).
David has his monitor. He is a very happy man. However, I am going to kill the bank. Again they tried to block a large purchase, stating that due to our deposit going through the ATM, they did not recognize that the funds were present. Wankers. So, we are going to go to the credit union through my work, that way there will never be a problem like this. One of the guys I work with purchased a 4-wheeler with his debit card, so I know these kinds of purchases can be done. There’s nothing more embarrasing than sitting on the phone waiting for the bank to approve a purchase for which there is plenty of money. I understand why its done, but if we pre-approve such a purchase, they should allow us to spend the money with ease. Screw you WAMU.
