It’s been a while…

I don’t have the energy for much in the way of writing right now. We are waiting for Amanda so we can take a little trip to Ikea (I need a basket) before she heads back to the Swampland (Orlando) for a friend’s wedding. I am unhappy to report that my favorite happy pants are dead. They ripped at the ankle and then continued ripping until they almost reached my knee. It was a sad demise.

Writing and such are going well. I need to finsih a couple books before the end of the term (the 25th), and get little reports done for those, but otherwise, I just need to finish writing. I think I hit my stride with the story so far.. it makes me happy.

Speaking of writing and other such nonsense. I’m starting another blog — with my real name (you won’t find it mentioned here and I don’t want it to be, so shhhh) for my writing career. I’m starting to take this whole “I am a writer” thing seriously. It’s time to take the next step.

I have several REALLY long posts that deal with my family that I haven’t put here yet. I’m still trying to figure out whether or not to PW them. I’m sure I will, but it’s something to think about. There’s a lot going on in that venue and it’s harder to deal with than I first thought it would be.

On happier notes — we’ve been taking the beagles to a park near the house. We are teaching Pip and Puck how to walk off the leash. Normally, I try to avoid this with Puck because he’s : stubborn, single-minded and too interested in other dogs. But if you yell “treat” — he’s comes a’ runnin. Pip is awesome off the leash. He’s very responsive, and honestly, I think he’s just happy he can run. Today he chased some ravens. Unfortunatly for them, he knows they respond when he runs, so he looked for them throughout the walk. Poor birds, they should have stayed still.

That’s all the mundane shit going on. Here’s a list to fill in the other bits:

  • we made an extravagant purchase and it makes me happy
  • Ratchet and Clank comes out in a few weeks
  • We are spending a lot of time with C & B and it’s good stuff
  • I am out of salsa….. AGAIN (I will be mailing some to some of you soon… after my deadline)
  • We will carve pumpkins soon
  • I’m sort of sad that we will not be in Orlando for Halloween — not as many people for the party
  • Miss Amandapants is going to be gone a LOT in the coming months
  • She gave me a key to her place, and it warmed my heart
  • my sister and I spend waaaay too much time playing UNO on xb0x (if you have an account… look for moodymeow)
  • I am the master of breakfast food
  • It’s cold here
  • I want to steal C’s shoes — all of them
  • Oregon wines rock
  • WE BOUGHT HUGE PUNKINS! (and that makes me happy)
