Treading water
Everyday December 14th, 2007
So, Wednesday didn’t get much better. Amanadapants was kind enough to pick me up and drop me off @ the car place. Once there, it started raining, and I knew D was riding home. Wonderful. When I went to pay - they wouldn’t let me use D’s credit card, and mine was expired. So it came out of our very teensy bank account. The great thing is that the heater is working. The shitty part is that we found out our breaks are toast, the car needs a tune up, and our battery was about to die. Groovy. Thanks for the cheery info. I headed home in rush hour traffic. I hate driving when it’s busy. Oh, and I didn’t have my ipod in the car so I tried to find a good radio station. There are a lot of Jesus channels here. Creepy.
D called. After riding up the hill twice on his way to work (he got turned around), his feet couldn’t take the cold and his legs were exhausted. I headed to Beaverton with minimal grumbling. I’d forgotten how pretty downtown is at night. The lights are cheery, and most of the pedestrians were respectful. I moseyed into Beaverton where D was, and when I got there the car got a little bitchy. I turned it off and helped D put the bike in the car. We happily chatted about the new heat, but when I turned on the car — no juice. The fucking battery died. I almost started crying. After dealing with the headache at the car place, the last thing we needed was a dead battery in the middle of a neighborhood in fucking Beaverton. BTW — for you Florida folks that’s about 13 miles from our house. So, I tried to phone a friend but got VM. D and I were about to call roadside assistance when the car gods told D to try the car again. It started, albeit grudgingly. Did I mention that it was cold as fuck outside ? D rememebered that a car parts store was kind of close, so we drove there and bought the cheapest battery they had. Finally, we headed home.
Now D and I are going to put new breaks on the car this weekend. We can’t afford to have them done professionally, and D and I can probably do it ourselves. Wish us luck.
Pip is still sick. The poor guy keeps throwing up, just until his food is out of his stomach. Puck, on the other hand, keeps everything down. I don’t think it’s the food this time. I thought maybe it was a virus, but this has gone on too long now. I’m hoping its nothign major…
but, kiddies, it’s flyday. I have to try to run today. If I don’t…well I just need to. Hope your week went better than mine.
About

Sounds like it was pretty rough this week. The kid was pretty cranky this week so I’m ready for the weekend and perhaps a glass or two of wine!
wine sounds great. Let’s have a glass, shall we?
oh, i’m sorry lady! don’t forget you have mechanic friends just a phone call away! call anytime if you need help with the brakes…i’m sure mike could help over the phone. or, just call anytime
good luck! miss you! love you!
Hey, If you were here I am sure that B would help with those brakes as well… But they are relatively easy to install (I watched). I hope that Pip is not ill. I know whats its like to have a sick baby… It is still raining. where is my sunshine???? I could totally deal with the cold, but its the rain that sucks. It is still just above freezing, so the flurries that we get are not sticking. Poop! I want snow… as for Christmas, I can not say that I am depressed, just a little agitated. Angry even. I dont like all the people that are out, having hissy fits cause they dont get what they want and fighting over crap… idiots, all of them. I havent done any shopping at the stores. I have done it all from the comfort of my home…
well, chica… I love you and I am sending you some warm wishes and hugs…
Stay Sane…
