And…….. another application
Everyday July 16th, 2008
I’ve spent all morning applying for jobs. What irritates the snot out of me is when I have to submit my resume AND fill out a fucking application. It’s like pulling fucking teeth. I can’t remember phone numbers or addresses, and somehow I lost the “work history” file I compiled during my last job hunt. It’s just freaking irritating.
I want a writing or editing job. I think I would be happiest working with the written word but I don’t have the experience or the confidence to apply for those kinds of jobs. How in the hell does a 31 year old break into the business. I know it can be done, I just don’t know how.
/end whine
I spoke with the Vet today. BTW - if you live in Portland, go to the Fremont Vet Clinic. The staff are complete darlings, the doctors explain things clearly and aren’t startled when you start sniffling like a child on the phone..they are just amazing. Now, on to Valentine. There is no camera small enough to go up his urethra to do the biopsy. The only way to figure out what kind of mass he has is to do surgery. I’m going to butcher the following medical stuff….so don’t get offended. Laparoscopic surgery by a cat bladder specialist (did you know there were such people out there?? Shit, I didn’t!) will cost us between 2-3k. Now, if I had a job, no problem. We would sell most anything to save this cat. But the vet doesn’t believe he’s in immediate danger, just that he’s uncomfortable. Option 2 would have the Clinic do the surgery, but it would be more invasive. But it seems the bigger the cut, the cheaper it is, so that surgery would run us between 800-1200. We are going to put Valentine on a special diet (and Voodoo too, because I can’t get them to eat separate things) and take a look at the mass in a month to find out what’s going on with it and make decision from there. It could be something he can live with, but we still don’t know if it’s cancer or not. The moral of the story is that we are taking a “wait and see” approach…and giving him VERY stinky food - which he will love.
I’m headed out to visit with Miss C today, after she gets off work. But first, I have to take the beagles out for a long walk, and take a shower. This application bullshit has taken up most of my morning, but such is life.
Oh, and now I’m Twitter-ing. I’m a few days late on this one, but it’s amusing. Follow me here.
