Sexual Assult at Rollins

I have class in the building where this happened. When I left school last night the place was innundated with cops. Now I know why.
Student Sexually Assaulted On Rollins College Campus
WINTER PARK, Fla. — Winter Park police are investigating a sexual assault on the campus of Rollins College. A student says two men attacked her Wednesday night as she was leaving class.
Rollins College is handing out safety material to its staff and students. Faculty members say the school sent an e-mail letting them know about the sexual assault. Now, faculty members, as well as students, are on guard.
“It shocked me, because everything was fine before 9 o’clock. We were all at the game and then we went home,” says student Miriam Mabroucle.
Winter Park police and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement flooded Rollins College after a night student was allegedly sexually assaulted.
Police say she was leaving class at Cornell Hall, a social studies building, when she decided to go the restroom. That’s when two men assaulted her. Afterwards, the student went to campus security and filed a report.
Winter Park police would not say whether or not the men had weapons, however the campus was in lockdown mode as investigators tried to find the suspects.
“There was two guys on campus loose with weapons, that’s why they didn’t want to let anyone out,” says Mabroucle.
Police say there are no witnesses at this time and FDLE is processing the evidence found in the bathroom.
Now some Rollins College students say they are concerned the two men could strike again.
“Most campuses have high security, but Rollins doesn’t seem to have much and we’re at the end of Park Avenue, so it’s kind of scary,” says student Blair Fawcett.
The Winter Park Police Department says it will be adding more patrols to monitor the campus. There will also be more foot patrols on campus. Police also say the victim was extremely shook up and police hope to interview her again to get more information about the suspects.
Rollins College released a statement Thursday morning: “Rollins College makes every effort to provide a safe and supportive environment for our students and our employees.” It goes on to say that the campus is patrolled 24 hours a day by security officers and the Winter Park Police Department.

thats very scary. they also make these REALLY loud whistles that you can buy to alert people of your situation. its a little cheaper than the thing that goes off automaticly but it still works. if all else fails buy a knife and cut em!

No doubt is it a couple of college guys out for kicks. I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t, though.
They should take these guys, put them out there in the public to explain why they did what they did, and help educate both the male/female populace out there, so everyone can help void these things from happening.
I’ve seen the Rollins campus at night, and to tell you the truth, for a place full of smug little rich brats, it looks like an incredibly unsafe place. Low lightining, etc etc.

You are of course, correct. I had pepper spray. I even had to use it (twice). It’s quite disconcerting when something like this appears where you feel the safest.
I hope they find the bastards. Then I hope they rip their balls off.

That’s unacceptable.
A while back I bought A a keychain pepper spray thing, which, of course, she took off her keychain.
I recommend to you both, E and A, a keychain ‘emergency noice device’, which basically is this REALLY loud little thing you set off if someone phucks with you.
The other is the spray. When you walk from class to class, hold it in your hand. I don’t care if you have other things on your mind. One incident like this could change your lives forever.
This weekend we could even swing by one of the stores that supply this stuff to check it out. Be smart, not sorry, because the time you’ll end up needing it is the time you don’t have it.
