Please. Is anyone avalible to kick us when we are down?
So the problem falls on both sides of the line. Apparently we have carried a balance on the power bill since October. Okay, that sucks. But yesterday, one of the coldest days of the year, they cut the power off. I was at school, trying to get enthused about British Lit. D came home to a cold dark house, and they wouldn’t turn the power back on because the cut on people had already been dispatched. So, we slept last night in a terribly cold house. Even the cats slept with us. It was one of the worst nights I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with…..
It should be back on sometime today.
Sometimes I hate OUC.

The thing that cracks me up is that the fucknuts that work in the cust service department get 3 weeks of training…. And I am guessing most of that 3 weeks is “how to be a total ass”
But…thanks to the lovely people I work with, this situation should be remedied by the time I get home! yay!

I think the thing that baffles me is as I said, we’ve been paying. It’s not like we just stopped paying our bill, which others have done and kept power for several months. So, I don’t know why they wouldn’t give us a warning or something. Dunno. Once again I feel crushed by a beaucracy, that is unresponsive to customer needs. I found it disturbing, and this is common in everything in this country, that the customer service person, at least the first one I spoke to, was treating me like I was some sort of freeloafer, even though she confirmed that they had been receiving payments from me. I wonder why the first reaction we always have is to demean the person in a tuff situation, like the welfare line or problems with power bills, assuming they are lazy and living off the hard work of others, when we really have no concept of their situation.
