Speaker. Mud. Movie. Sleep. Prepare.

I didn’t place much hope in the weekend. Thursday’s taint could have ruined it all. But I stopped to breathe. I feel better now.
After househunting with Chris and Julie (we found his perfect apartment, but it was out of his price range…it almost made me cry), I headed home to convince D that skipping homework was a good idea and if we watched a movie we would be much happier. I didn’t really mention the intended detour to the Apple store. So, after making plans to meet Chris and Julie later, D and I headed off to dinner.
I really like California Pizza Kitchen, but we always seem to get the defective server. Lex called while we were eating, pretty much stating that we could get a really nice present from the parental units for the wedding (sofa anyone?)…so we finished dinner and headed to Apple.
That place cracks me up. If you are humping the on-display laptops or G5′s then the little Apple-people are quite (too) helpful. But we were browsing the speakers and the socks. We picked up a couple toys. See, we need some kind of music for the party, so our solution was to get another hub and then get some rockin’ speakers. It worked. They are pretty speakers (small and alien-like) and listening to the Gladiator soundtrack is amazing with them!
Constantine – I really liked this movie. I’ve not read the Hellblazer comic on which it was based, but I liked it none the less. Gabriel – yummy!!! Balthazar – yummy!. It was nice to see a flick where brains not brawn wins the fight. I almost piced up the graphic novels, but I hate the art. Watch it!
Saturday I went to town. First, breakfast at our favorite little place “Chuck’s”. This really nice British family owns it. They make the best hashbrowns, always crispy and nummy. And from there we went to the Super Target by the mall. I needed stuff for the house. Did you know they carry pinata’s ?? They DO!! Happily, we bought 2, some pillows for the couch and a few other bits.
The weekend progressed. Homework. Dinner, cleaning and my passing out from exhaustion after a half glass of wine.
Sunday, I tackled the corner of the yard. We bought plants, purple bits of nature to perk up the brown mess back there. I underestimated the work it was going to take. I thought I would just have to rake through the dirt, pick out a few vines and be done with it. Oh no, not quite. All kinds of shit had been buried in area that once hid beneath the bouganvilla. A candle, soda cans, bits of metal, bricks, a condom wrapper…. so I scraped and dug and ended up covered in dirt. But I was really happy. I loved tilling the earth and planting. When it was all said and done I was proud of myself. It looks lovely. But that was just the corner. Now I have to clean up the rest of the mess back there…..where’s the time?
