I figured you would be! It makes me very happy. And I hope the cops nail those people rather than the ones speeding - they are going slower so they will be easier to catch! And frankly, they do make the road dangerous for us speeders (and yes, I know I should slow down)
In theory, this law is great, but don’t get too excited. It’s pretty much an unenforceable law. Such a law has been on the books in New Jersey for a long time and I know of no one ever called on it.
This law will pretty much only help lawyers pick up fees. Those guys can get you off a DUI, they’ll get you off this. “Your Honor, I wasn’t blocking traffic, I was passing other slower traffic.”
It won’t reduce road rage. In an angry speeder’s mind, no one drives fast enough. Someone will always be in the way.
Believe me, as someone having to shuttle to Daytona Beach and back a couple times a week, in theory I’d support this law. But really, it’s just more unnecessary government interference. Schools still suck, but boy, you better get out of that left lane.
