Drunken Rambling

The move is done. I am not going to discuss the trip in my over-served (self-served mind you) state, but I will talk about my new house. I fucking love it here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! While we have found a few creatures (of the icky cockroach sort) wanderin about, I find myself feeling wholly at home here. This is our step into *gasp* adulthood. No longer do we share space with others, this is all our own.
I think it finally hit me last night, as LTJ Bukem blared from David’s computer, that there is a gap between the houses and my loud noise will not disturb anyone. That’s fucking amazing in my book. What’s hard to get used to is not knowing where everyone is….in the duplex there was a long string of rooms. The rooms here go in a circle (which will make perfect sense if you visit) so I can go round and round without ever finding the being I am searching for (it’s usually Valenine since he has decided to hunt for the offending cockroaches so all his noise raises my alarm). All of our stuff, save a few bits, is in and it looks wonderful. There is room to breathe, dance, and sing. I have entertained myself my chasing Puck in socks and with hardwood floors, there is nearly no traction. Our front porch aches for company, a bottle of wine and lots of time is needed to fully appreciate the spectacular nature of my view (the gardens, name Lou…and yes, that amused me). My kitchen is the only room in the house that is fully put together, but the rest is coming alone nicely. The only thing I regret is that it’s not cold enough to light a fire. Someone come over and urge me to make s’mores so I have an exucse to be a pyro, damnit! I love it here. I am sleeping better. Valentine is eating, finally. David is also sleeping well and Puck is still not all that excited about the idea of a yard (unless someone is out there to keep him company). But we have a home. It’s a good home that creaks and yawns as the winds come.
I think I am in love.
