Cat in the Crawlspace

Valentine is a butthead.
We have an access panel for the tub in the kitchen. It’s a little board, painted white, that allows direct access to the pipes. It’s a good thing to have, saves the need to tear down the wall, however, it’s loose. When they painted the kitchen, they also painted this panel, so it was pretty solid. Paint is a great adhesive. But in the random showings of the house, we have kicked said panel, and it got loose.
Then today, as I was out wandering the city in the rain, the panel blew down. If anyone was outside around noon, you know the winds were quite impressive. So I get home, don’t really notice the lack of Valentine, for I thought he was sleeping in my chair. Then, after playing with Puck in the yard, I realize the cat was missing. I don’t know why I thought about this while outside, but I got all freaked out and ran into the house. The panel, which was down when I got home, was still in place. So I run around the house, checking the fireplace and all the closets. No cat.
Then I go outside, checking under the house. No cat. I call David, freaking out. He told me to get the treats bag and to go back outside and call him. There is once section of the lattice work fencing that was loose. I pulled it out, and there was dumbass kitty. Luckily, there was really no way for him to get out from under the house. He was covered in cobwebs, and as soon as I grabbed him, I chucked him into the kitchen. The bastard sat on my chair and cleaned himself, without a second glance to me. Damn cat.
