Party Time

I woke to find stale chips still in the bowls on my counter, wax melted on bricks in my backyard, and the one lantern that worked last night fell apart in the morning sun….
There were those that came, if shortly, to view the new house. There were others that came, and for some reason, remained away from the main party. Then there were those who said they were coming and did not show up at all. All in all it was a success.
Frankie, once again, stunned us with a spectacular menu, which included “a pastry thing with chicken in it” and some bad ass quesidillas (I know I just butchered that spelling). Heather brought crack, also known as Bacon Bacon and almost everyone brought some type of alcoholic beverage.
In all honesty, I didn’t have as much fun as I normally do at my little gatherings. There was just something off, and it very well could have been me. I have been known to psych myself out, once or twice. It was great seeing Cat and Julie. I am always pleased to see Vanya and Karen. But there was just something that didn’t sit well with me.
I think the next gathering is going to be more intimate and slightly more selective. So, less people, but more time on the porch….
Today was a little rough. I woke up really fucking late since I didn’t get to bed till almost dawn. As a result all that I planned for today was shot to shit. The only thing I have managed to accomplish was to get my uniform for Maui’s and to make dinner. When I got up, I cleaned up the house, so that was something, but finishing up the duplex cleaning, getting laundry done and my paper started, not happenin…Maybe I should work on that now..
