Peace of Saturday

The fondue was lovely and the company welcome. I, of course, drank to excess, but when I woke this afternoon, I felt drained rather than dead. And on the agenda for this evening? Taking Pip to the vet for shots. Our vet has late hours, so we were able to get him in for an appointment this weekend, rather than waiting weeks to squeeze into some overly tight schedule.
The next few weeks will be both trying and spectacular. I have my pre-surgery appointent at Arnold Palmer on Tuesday. I’m sure they are going to poke me with needles. I’m sure I am not going to like it. And then on Wednesday, Mom flies in. I am heading out early from work to pick her up at the airport around 2. Thursday will be a normal work day for me, and Friday I get cut. Friday is not a day I am looking forward to, but I know it’s best to get these errant cells out of my body before they cause more damage.
The following week I will be off work. Not because I am on vacation, but for the recovery. I don’t know that I will need the whole week, but it’s better to take my time healing. I plan on doing a lot of reading (I’ve started the Harry Potter series thanks to Julie) and relaxing. Perhaps Mom and I can spend lots of time bonding over coffee and pain pills. Who knows. I just know I am going to take it very slow that week.
The following week I am back at work for 3 days, and then that Wednesday (the 17th) I head to Chicago for some well-needed Tali time. I will be gone through the 21st. Then I start school again on the 23rd. It’s looking to be a rockin’ month.
So, if you are out there and wondering what is going on (being that my posts will probably become infrequent for a bit) that’s the story.
I’ve had a lovely day with D. We’ve snuggled, laughed, and eaten. Reflecting on our relationship makes me understand how lucky we are to have found each other in that smoky club some years ago….. I still smile remembering my reaction to our introduction… I still smile every time I think about him.
Now, it’s off the to the vet we go. Good night

I am leaving on Tuesday for Texas and I wont be back until the 8th… I know that I am not your first choice… but if you need to talk to someone while you are recooping your strength… please feel free to call… I will have my cell with me…while I am in in-law hell.
As for Harry Potter…. I love the books… Just finished book six a week ago and had to re-read the series over again. I love how her writing just gets better with every book. Brilliant! That Julie…:)
Well best of luck to you and I will see you soon. :::HUGS::::

Cat time is a given. We’ve set up the D’s old office as the guest room. Mom is going to test it out. But I think you 2 will sleep well there when you visit.
