Bloody wildlife

I think our friend Possum made a call to the stupid bird population. I went out this afternoon to feed the boys, their food being on the back porch. Wedged between the dryer and the washer was a gray pigeon who looked terrified. I pulled the washer and dryer apart so that the bird could get unstuck. Now, for the past 2 hours I have been waiting for the frickin bird to exit the porch. But, he remains behind our appliances, and can’t seem to get the leverage to fly out. I thought there was plenty of room for him to walk, but apparently he does not want to exit in that lowly manner. I wonder if a trail of breadcrumbs would work….

I say send in the cats that would surely get him going one way or another… and if they catch him than you can serve a la pigeon for dinner tommorwo night… hahaha … I know I know I am sick… but you have to admit its a little funny… plus then d would not have to buy them a bird to play with because one already volunteered

Sorry to intrude on your webpage, but I have dealt with many a situation such as this one. The best thing to do is to drape a towel in the area behind the bird and use it to gently ease mr. pigeon out of hiding. More than likely, he will fly away as soon as he is in an area large enough. If not, he may be injured or tramatized. There is a “bird lady” in the Apopka area who takes care of (you guessed it) sick and injured birds. Good luck!

We ended up moving the appliances and the little bird flew away. I think he learned his lesson. and thanks Lindsey for the info. You are NOT intruding. Any friend of Tali’s is welcome…
