No one can say they didn’t see it coming”

D pointed out this article to me. Seems that our fearless leader once again has his priorities all fucked up. But, perhaps he will have learned his lesson. The money spent on the “war” needs to be rechanneled back into this country, specifically the South.

It just makes me sad. I’m overwhelmed with despair over this situation…. If you can, donate blood!!! They will need it, and cash to the Red Cross.

I wanted to take up a collection of clothes for the victims, but I don’t even know where to start…

I have read that if you want to collect clothes donate to the Salvation Army and Goodwill… THere is a church in the Orlando Area.. DIscovery Church that is asking people to donate hygiene items.(soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste etc)
I have just pledged my last $100 to Red Cross, we will struggle this week financially, but I think struggling to keep what I have is better than not having anything. I wish that I could give blood, under the circumstances I cant…
Personally I think that the system of levees set up around the systems were going to fail eventually based on the fact that we all know that a hurrican can cause some serious damage. They need a system in place similar to that of the Dutch. I hope that they are able to stabilize the area quickly, I have given myself indigestion over the whole situation. I feel the need to help and do more, but i dont have the resources or the funds and it really is a stinks… I feel so helpless.

networkforgood.org is the site that’s being promoted by the New York City Government. On that site you can specifically choose where your money goes and how it will be spent. Anthony’s father lives in New Orleans and his house is completely submerged in water right now, roof and all. This is all so unbelieveable. Everyone should help as much as possible.

I found out that OUC is matching our donations dollar for dollar. I have a penny jar that probably has 100 bucks in it. I think I will take the time to roll all the cash and donate that. It’s not much, but it’s something. And I have a shitload of home stuff that can go to the Red Cross. I will start with that.

Lindsey, happy birthday!!! Is Anthony’s Dad okay?
