Weekend in Review

I loved Friday. It couldn’t come soon enough for me. I spent the morning at home with the electrician, and burned through the rest of my vacation time rather than making up the time in the weekend hours. But the good news is that everything is fixed in the house. We need to get a ladder up to the roof so I can use the fireplace. I’m still not convinced that there’s an actual flue in the damn thing, but our prop manager told me it was fire-worthy.

I meant to go to Whole Food to get the stuff to cook for Saturday. Instead I played video games. I rocked the hell out of my video games. But I also talked to Tali at length about the projects we are working on. A few decisions were made. I will get into that later. But we had a blast on the phone. She really does crack me up. I think we were on the phone for over 2 and a half hours. But such is the life of blabbermouths!

Saturday I cooked. And Cooked. And did I mention that I cooked? Enchiladas for the party at Leslie’s house – I wanted to make a good impression with my food. They came out quite well. I’m getting hungry thinking about them (shit!! I was supposed to bring the leftovers for lunch…damnit!!) But we had a good time. I felt kind of bad because there was a lot of professor bashing. I should have tried to relay the positive stuff rather than the negative. Alas, such is life. As soon as we got home I feel into bed.

We ventured to Chuck’s on Sunday for breakfast. D didn’t want to do dishes but I didn’t want to tempt myself with bacon (remember – there’s a no-pork rule now). I found a great compromise, basically my usual breakfast without the bacon. I was quite happy. For the record, I like Chuck’s coffee better than First Watch. That place is a fucking madhouse on the weekends.

So the highlight of my weekend came with the purchase of a new shower curtain (with a big flower), I beat Ratchet Destruction (I’m playing through a second time so I can get the cool guns!), I spoke with a few of my friends and we made it through a visit to Target nearly unscathed.

We watched Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and I found that I really liked the movie. I’ve never read the books (please don’t shoot me for that admission), but I thought the movie had some brilliantly funny moments. Alan Rickman as the depressed robot really killed mel. Jim Henson’s creature people did fantabulous work on all of the aliens (I love the poor crab) throughout the movie. It made me want to watch Dark Crystal again. but I need to own the movie before I can watch it….alas.

The plans for the week include: cleaning the house, running every day this week, trying to keep myself from buying smokes, getting some new music and loving my huzzie.

This weekend we are going to keep things kind of quiet…unless you can tempt me with something spectacular and cheap (remember – I have to pay for that evil ticket!).

Fark: Pope denounces materialism from balcony of marble, gold-domed building in midst of jewel-encrusted religious icons while wearing giant gold cross.

I think that you are the only person that I know that made it through Target this weekend unscathed!
I couldve killed someone at Toys R Us… but that is because she ran into Chloe with a package and kept going… no apology .. nothing. It sucked for her cause my mom was there and she is a raving lunatic when itcomes to her grand children. Not to mention the whole attorney thing and the fact that she came up with about twenty reasons why she could sue the woman when she was berating her for running over a two/three year old.
that was the highlight of my Sunday.
I thought that Saturday was fun… It was light conversation and it was the usual people.
