Hey. For some reason I am just now reading this. So, as someone who gets easily distracted by noise in the night I invested in a new alarm clock from Bed Bath & Beyond. I’m sure other stores carry them. ANYWAY, the alarm clock has a feature on it with a variety of sounds…usually either crickets, a thunderstorm, ocean waves, birds singing…you get the point. Anyway this has worked pretty well. I keep it low and it serves as white noise without disturbing Brian. If (and it does happen) it doesn’t work some nights then I will plug in my iHome and play downloaded sounds like wind chimes or another distracting noise that drowns out other sounds without keeping me awake. So far it has worked better than anything. Music was too much of a stimulant for me and completely cutting off all noise with plugs did not help turn my brain off at all. I hope this helps.

Sucks about the unemployment. I’d say something hokey like “hang in there” but instead I’ll just hope you find something soon.

You ARE as spunky and cool as you used to be…in fact more so considering you have grown wiser. The funky colored, cute, short hair helps too! (I think there are too many commas there. Meh!) Have a great trip and even though we don’t see you all the time B and I love you and are here no matter what!

Did you stop writing when you graduated? That is a fear I have, that without the deadlines and the ass-riding, I won’t keep pursing this.

I have drawers full of pens. And my taste in them changes depending on my mood. I will tell you, I never use black pens. Black ink is for print, not for writing. I prefer purple (shocking, I know) but I also like nice blue ink. I steal the hubbie’s art pens sometimes, because they are like writing with an alien – strangely structured and their weight is unusual and unbalanced (at least for writing).

I may have to visit your pens one of these days… (insert winning lotto ticket here)

I’m a pen-o-holic. I love pens. I love writing with them. I love writing on good paper with them. I love writing.

But I love paper-free more.

Anyhow…

I have a Rotring 600 Aluminum, a Rotring 600 matte black, and a green Lamy fountain pen.

I get my pens at Daly’s Pen Shop.

I don’t treat them kindly – I use all of them. But all of them, especially the Rotrings, have a great heft in my hand and are perfectly balanced instruments of which dreams are made.

I find a comedic brilliance in the fact that in one line you state the weather in Florida sucks, which it does, while on the second line you immediately state how horrible the weather has been in Portland. Other then that HOOZAH for bullet points.

I’m so sorry to hear about the stress and the worry. If it helps, I’ll totally holler and hoot (and you know I’ll totally pull out mah Suthuhn roots just fo’ y’all, dahlin) when you walk. And I say when b/c you WILL walk. The money is coming.

I’m glad you’re finding the good side to all the crap, but I’m hopeful that the crap will dissipate and leave just the good behind.
